For many years, the Dallas Cowboys have been recognised as “America’s Team.” While one may argue whether or not that nickname is appropriate, it is certainly true in the media space. Marcus Spears highlighted the benefits of playing for the Cowboys on Thursday’s episode of The Dan Patrick Show. In doing so, the former Dallas defensive end said that wearing the star has opened doors for many former players, including himself, in the media. “There’s a lore to being a Cowboy, man,” added Spears. “For example, I still eat for free around here. People are still calling me to do…
Bernie Ecclestone’s usual Christmas card for 2023 was a “big slap” to the Formula One world.
Start, Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2023 Every year, the former Formula One champion entertains people on his Christmas card list with a witty take on the year’s most important themes and stories. Just planning the plotting was the caption a year ago, with the card picture picturing feuding team executives discussing and eavesdropping in the pitlane. Previously, Ecclestone mocked social and cultural events of the day, with drivers wearing surgical masks depicted kneeling on the grid and receiving vaccines. This year, however, the now 93-year-old switched gears totally, with his card featuring a tranquil winter farm setting rather than a…
Roger Benoit, a noted F1 journalist, revealed many “quirks” inside the Tyrrell squad, including a sex ban and Martin Brundle’s bedtime. After racing in Formula 2, Ken Tyrrell felt he wasn’t cut out for top-level motorsport and turned his attention to team management, establishing Tyrrell Racing, which competed in Formula 1 from 1968 to 1998, winning three Drivers’ Championships and a Constructors’ Championship during that time. Sir Jackie Stewart won three Drivers’ Championships in 1969, 1971, and 1973. Tyrrell’s pre-race sex prohibition and ‘other peculiarities’ have been disclosed. In an interview with Blick, F1 journalist Roger Benoit revealed some…
The sale of a four-assist midfielder signals a grave undercutting of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
According to ESPN, Chelsea are looking to sell Conor Gallagher, and Mauricio Pochettino has no say in the matter. The club is justifying the impending sale as a Financial Fair Play exercise. Gallagher is a homegrown player who costs nothing and has a big weight on the club’s balance sheet if sold. This is simply not how a club should be run. Of course, it makes sense for the manager to not have complete control over transfers because you don’t want to tailor a whole squad to the style of a single coach who can be fired at any time.…
Conor Benn’s next fight, scheduled for February, will take place outside of England, according to Eddie Hearn.
Conor Benn, the embattled welterweight, may have to leave his native England for the second time in a row. According to Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing, the Essex native will fight on Feb. 3, despite the fact that the bout with Chris Eubank Jr. scheduled for that date fell through last week. But, unlike that bout, which was scheduled for Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Hearn claims Benn’s next fight will take place in an entirely different jurisdiction. Hearn stated that the nationality of Benn’s next opponent, as well as the lack of accessible venues in England, prompted…
Aston Martin issued a Red Bull challenge, saying, ‘This is the standard we must achieve.’
Aston Martin has been challenged to start performing Grands Prix and have the same level of reliability as Red Bull if it wants to compete at the top of Formula 1. The team’s reward for a great 2023 campaign, in which it was the closest competitor to Red Bull in the initial races, was eight podiums and more than five times as many points as in 2022. However, the team fell back in the mid-season as modifications did not perform as planned, and it finished fifth in the standings, with Red Bull winning 21 of 22 races. While both Performance…

Kalvin Phillips makes a transfer ‘demand’ amid reports of interest from Newcastle United and Juventus.
According to sources, Kalvin Phillips needs assurances that he would be handed first-team football before any January loan move. Since joining Manchester City for nearly £50 million last year, the England international has been deprived of playing time. Newcastle United were one among the clubs interested in Phillips at the time, and it is understood that they are keeping a careful eye on his position. The only games he has started for City this season have been the Carabao Cup trip to St James’ Park in September and last week’s Champions League dead rubber. When pressed last week, Pep Guardiola…
The Detroit Tigers have been a poor club for the last few years. But they appear to be ready to turn the corner and come back into contention. The Tigers finished second in the AL Central last season with a 78-84 record. They have a youthful club full of players who are still finding their way as MLB players. Nonetheless, it looks that the Tigers want to bring in some veterans to help balance out their young core. The Tigers have officially agreed to a one-year contract with pitcher Jack Flaherty, according to Bob Nightengale. The contract is for $14…
Following the Heat’s victory over the Magic, Bam Adebayo and Erik Spoelstra discuss the team’s depth. It is no secret that the Miami Heat have had injury issues this season, as the team has been without studs Bam Adebayo and, in particular, Tyler Herro for extended periods of time. When those two returned last Monday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, there was some hope that a full-fledged Heat team could be formed. The day after the loss to Minnesota, the team revealed that Jimmy Butler will miss Wednesday’s game against the Magic, and now he will miss Friday’s game against the…
