As per Stein, the Chunks would prefer to lose KCP as a free specialist than exchange him to the Mavs, in which situation Denver will get something back in return for the 31-year-old. That is to what lengths the Pieces don’t will go for the Mavs to improve as a group next season.

The Pieces clearly need to make one more run for the title in 2025, and they’re simply not keen on aiding some other group out there — particularly in the event that it’s a division rival like the Mavs.
