West Ham midfielder Lucas Paqueta was charged by English soccer experts on Thursday after it was affirmed the Brazil global intentionally gotten cards during Head Association matches to impact wagering markets.
“I deny the charges completely,” Paqueta wrote in a prompt reaction on his Instagram record, “and will battle with each breath to demonstrate my innocence.”
The case revolves around four matches from November 2022 to August 2023. Paqueta got a yellow card in every one of them.
The Football Affiliation said Paqueta has been accused of unfortunate behavior for breaking two of its principles.
“It’s claimed,” the FA said, “that he straightforwardly looked to impact the advancement, direct, or some other part of, or event in these matches by deliberately trying to get a card from the ref for the ill-advised reason for influencing the wagering market for at least one people to benefit from wagering.”
The 26-year-old Paqueta was likewise accused of “asserted disappointments to go along,” the FA said.
He has until June 3 to authoritatively answer the charges, yet took to Instagram to say he is “incredibly shocked and upset that the FA has chosen to charge me.”

West Ham said Paqueta “completely denies the break and will proceed to guard his position vigorously.”
“The club will keep on holding on and support the player in the meantime,” West Ham said, “and will offer no further remark until the matter is closed.”
Paqueta, who fourteen days prior was chosen in Brazil’s crew for the Copa America competition beginning one month from now, has kept on playing for West Ham while the FA was researching the supposed wagering breaks. The examination has supposedly scuppered a possible move for Paqueta to English hero Manchester City.
The Chief Association matches being referred to were against Leicester on Nov. 12, 2022; Aston Manor on Walk 12, 2023; Leeds on May 21, 2023; and Bournemouth on Aug. 12, 2023.
Paqueta got a yellow card in every one of those games, each opportunity in the final part. Against Bournemouth, he was reserved for a purposeful handball in the fourth moment of stoppage time.
The charges are more much the same as those of spot-fixing, which is more normal in cricket.
It wasn’t promptly clear assuming Paqueta has been blamed for putting down wagers on himself.
Brentford striker Ivan Toney and Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali have been restricted over the course of the last year for penetrating wagering rules.
The charges against Paqueta came around the same time West Ham employed another director, Julen Lopetegui.
