Players, coaches, and staff have consistently declared the Baltimore Ravens’ culture to be among the finest in the National Football League. Jadeveon Clowney’s agent reportedly informed head coach John Harbaugh last month that it was the first time Clowney had a pleasant season finale. Cornerback Arthur Maulet now shares that the Ravens’ culture was a major reason he was ready to negotiate a lower contract and remained a Raven.
“I was reluctant to go. On the group’s podcast, “The Lounge,” Maulet stated, “I didn’t want to go anywhere else.” This was the year that my career took off. I was therefore prepared to accept less or whatever it took to be here, regardless of the outcome of the negotiations. This team is amazing. I cherish my teammates. The coaches are amazing. I’ve never had more fun on a team than I do now.
Having played for five different teams during his NFL career, Maulet has been a journeyman. However, there is something unique about Baltimore. It serves as Maulet’s house. The culture is to blame.
“Dude, I think it’s just the building.” I simply believe that this building’s occupants all speak the same language. Each of us puts in a lot of effort in our work. We have concern for one another. It is a fraternity. When it comes to having tough talks, we feel at ease doing so. We don’t have any animosities or grudges against one another. By producing the plays that we do produce, we are able to inspire one another. We don’t feel envious of other guys who perform. We’re delighted for them. We’re having a party with them. everything, exactly. only the companionship. While I was having fun with a few guys, I happened to see the cooks working out. I say to everyone, “Come on, let’s get fit!” We all speak the same language, I thought to myself.
Last season, Maulet inked a $1.08 million, one-year contract with a $220,000 guaranteed clause with the Ravens. For Maulet, who was ultimately forced to part ways with the Steelers after being refused guaranteed money during contract negotiations, that money meant the world. He praised the Ravens last year for offering him such a deal, and he hasn’t forgotten the disrespect shown by the Steelers in the process.
They didn’t really provide me any guarantees on my second-year contract, and I was coming from Pittsburgh. However, you people did when I signed with Baltimore,” Maulet remarked. “And I thought that was the ultimate respect because I had given the Steelers my blood, sweat, and tears, played hurt, and accomplished all of these things, and they still refused to give me a guaranteed contract.” However, you people released the movie this past year before you signed me, and even though you gave me some guaranteed cash, I declined to play for you guys.
