There is an opportunity for the San Francisco 49ers to select a player whose father has some previous experience with the franchise. They have been associated with Brenden Rice, a wide receiver for USC and the son of GOAT and Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice. Frank Gore Jr., the son of former 49ers running back Frank Gore, is another.
Terique Owens, a former wide receiver at Missouri State, should be included. Terique Owens, the son of Terrell Owens, attended a pro day at the University of Missouri but was not invited to the NFL Combine. Two of the 20 NFL scouts in attendance, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, were affiliated with the 49ers.
Regarding potential, not much is known about the younger Owens, and there isn’t much available in the way of highlight videos. We won’t find anything at the NFL Combine either, as he wasn’t invited. With 28 receptions for 528 yards in 2023, it was his greatest year.
Owens gave a good interview to NFL Draft Diamonds in which he defined himself as “fairly quiet.” in contrast to his father, who was renowned for speaking his mind.
2018 saw Terrell, the father of Terique Owens, inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His nickname among 49ers supporters is The Catch II recipient.
