    “Stephen A. Smith goes off on the 49ers for not being aware of the new NFL playoff OT rule! 😱 #LackOfAwareness”

    In Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday night, the San Francisco 49ers fell short against the Kansas City Chiefs in overtime. After the game, a lot of talk centred on Kyle Shanahan’s choice to carry the ball rather than throw it to begin overtime.

    Time runs out when the team with the ball scores the first touchdown; this is a rule decision. For overtime, nevertheless, there are various regulations. The 49ers gained the ball on first down with the option to receive, but they were forced to give it back to Patrick Mahomes, which might have ended the game and the season.

    After gaining possession of the ball and advancing down the field, San Francisco was forced to settle for a field goal on third down in the red zone. Mahomes as well as

    After scoring, the Niners were able to win the game by a margin of two points. This also meant that reporters would question players about Shanahan’s choice, which resulted in some 49ers players admitting they were unaware of the game’s regulations.

    Andy Reid stated, “That’s a stark contrast to the Chiefs players,” in advance of the training camp rule change. Following the game, a number of San Francisco players claimed that they were unaware of any changes to the game’s rules and that there had not been a team-wide strategy conversation regarding time management.

    Kyle Juszczyk All stated that he believed the 49ers would call him to receive after winning the penalty. It is as a result of you

    I’m not really knowledgeable about strategy,” remarked Jurszczyk.

    Although this isn’t the first time NFL players have acknowledged in public that they don’t know the regulations from the past, it’s the worst because it happened during the Super Bowl.

    Smith, using the euphemism “derailing the job,” to describe his accusation that the Niners were unaware of these details regarding their performance when it counted most, called it embarrassing. But here we are, having used it on TV.

    Yes, they should be aware of it, but they should also be aware of the football culture, where players take great satisfaction in the minute elements of their everyday activities.

    The coaching staff values their lack of concern for details more than the players do because, well,

    Given that there aren’t many restrictions that can alter a player’s game plan, can you really hold the coaching staff accountable for failing to educate the players the rules?

    For Reid and the meticulous KC coaching staff, it is accurate. Ultimately, though, resentment towards people who have demonstrated a lack of skill is more telling than anything else.

    This is how fans responded.

    It’s insane πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ to admit you didn’t know the rules on the greatest stage in the game.

    “You act like Christian McCaffrey didn’t run hog wild” πŸ˜‚, said Shannon of @BlueSkiesSunnyDays.

    Stevelim98
    SA At last, someone expresses what is necessary. He’s an excellent coach, but why do you avoid the run if you watch every game while they’re losing? Each and every game…

    @kaleb324
    Shannon is adjusting the guidelines. In overtime, kicking a field goal to win has always been foolish.

    @nesibarini2137
    In this instance, ignorance is not bliss. As participants, it is your responsibility to read, comprehend everything, and keep up with new knowledge.

    @_PJ2641
    Shannon, in my memory, credited the Bucs defence more than Brady for winning that Super Bowl.

    @Sam-jx8tv
    Even ten years ago, 10 point leads were different.

    @Israel7099 Jackson
    Shannon is correct! Such remarks are not made in public!

    Don’t let them score; score instead. What benefit does knowing the rules offer?

    Bryan Flores
    I thought it was ridiculous that they wanted the ball as soon as they stated they did because of the new regulations.

    The referee clarified the guidelines for overtime.

    @TheDeanthedon
    It’s very embarrassing for the Niners players to claim they are unaware of the regulations.

    Bronson 296
    It’s absurd that Armstead said he was unaware of the ruleβ€”which has been in place for a whileβ€”that states that kicking a field goal in overtime does not end the game.

    @swaglord2748
    All I’ll say is that San Francisco was unaware of the new overtime regulations, and the Chiefs players claimed they were so tired of hearing about them. What separates a championship-winning coaching staff from an average one

    @HarlemWorld7287
    I believe the 49ers were too concerned about what Cam Newton said πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

    @TkKirklandTrue That Stephen There was a humorous line. “The quarterback should be protected more than the offensive line”
