The Las Vegas Raiders are rumoured to be aiming to trade up and select a quarterback in the 2024 NFL Draft, but it could be challenging. The squad doesn’t choose until No. 13, and other teams that also need a quarterback pick before them.
Although there are sceptics regarding the Raiders’ ability to execute a play, head coach Antonio Pierce is optimistic about the group’s ability to succeed provided they have the right mindset.

The quarterback is the wild card… In the episode of “The Pivot Podcast” airing on February 13, Pierce stated, “We need to put together a plan.” Each person has a cost. There is always a cost. As long as they’re willing, you can sow a little uncertainty and curiosity there.
These remarks suggest that the Raiders are considering a trade up for the quarterback and may be prepared to go above and beyond to make it happen. However, Pierce did bring up free agency, so they may take that route. Whatever the case, the Raiders are undoubtedly a team to keep an eye on in the offseason quarterback competition.
Antonio Pierce Talks About Aidan O’Connell’s Prospects
Antonio Pierce’s previously expressed remarks might not be good for Aidan O’Connell. Last season, the 2023 fourth-round selection started 10 games and finished with a 5-5 record. 12 touchdowns were thrown by him against 7 interceptions. Considering that he was the backup quarterback going into the season, he performed admirably.
Pierce wants it known that, should the need arise, he would be at ease starting O’Connell in the upcoming campaign.
