Pittsburgh — The Pittsburgh Steelers have hired Arthur Smith as their new offensive coordinator. However, the immediate reaction from the fanbase was not very good.
After a couple of difficult years with the Atlanta Falcons, it’s unclear what coach the Steelers will receive in Smith. Will he be as successful an offensive coordinator as he was with the Tennessee Titans? Or will he remain the same coach he was in Atlanta?
Speaking with people with intimate knowledge of the Falcons organisation, it appears Smith will bring far more to Pittsburgh than fans realise. Not everything was as horrible as it appeared on the surface – or in the limited sample size of Falcons football that Steelers fans and media may have seen last season.
