The 49ers were knocked out of first place in the USA TODAY Sports NFL power rankings with their loss to the Ravens. Week 17’s rout of the Dolphins by Baltimore only strengthened their position as the top team in the rankings. San Francisco held their position at No. 2, where they most likely will remain as the 49ers and Ravens are guaranteed spots going into the final week of the season.

Their ranking slipped after their loss to Baltimore, and they might even be the underdogs when they play each other in the Super Bowl in February. Now, though, the objective is to make it to the Super Bowl.
If they meet in Las Vegas, they can battle it out on the field to determine whose team is the best in the NFL in the end.
