The Phoenix Suns continue their tragicomedy à la Shakespeare.
The best player for the Suns, Kevin Durant, will not play against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. It is said that Durant is experiencing hamstring tightness.
Two games have passed since Bradley Beal, a fellow Phoenix star, returned to the starting lineup after spraining his ankle. Beal had lost a lot of time earlier that year because of a back ailment.
Moreover, Durant and Devin Booker have both missed stretches of action this season due to personal ankle problems. With Durant skipping Monday’s game against the Blazers, Phoenix’s Big Three will now only have played together in four of the thirty-one games that can be played this season.
Given that the Suns, who are 17-15 overall, are playing the second half of a back-to-back set on Monday, Durant’s absence might simply be a precaution. However, Suns supporters shouldn’t be overly optimistic about this news because hamstring injuries have a propensity to persist and because Phoenix’s Big Three already have hilariously poor timing when it comes to being healthy at the same time.
