Collin Sexton scored 22 points and Keyonte George added 21 as the Utah Jazz defeated the Miami Heat 117-109 on Saturday in Salt Lake City.
Miami’s four-game winning streak was halted thanks to a big game from Bam Adebayo. He finished with 28 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, three thefts, and three blocks. Tyler Herro finished with 25 points, six rebounds, and six assists.
In the fourth quarter, George scored 12 points. The youngster hit a career-high tying five 3-pointers to help the Jazz extend their winning streak to seven games in a row.
Former Miami player Kelly Olynyk contributed 19 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds off the bench as Utah won its fourth game in five games after a five-game road trip.
The Jazz triumphed despite poor performances from Lauri Markkanen and Jordan Clarkson, who combined for 21 points on 7-of-23 shooting. Utah was also 11-for-41 from 3-point range.
For the Jazz, who had seven players in double digits, Simone Fontecchio started and finished with 12 points and seven rebounds.
From the start, the teams kept things close. when the first quarter, Miami led 28-27, and Utah headed into the locker room with a 54-53 advantage when Sexton made a late go-ahead basket.
The back-and-forth continued throughout the third and fourth quarters. After three quarters, the score was tied 88-88, and it was still a one-point game midway through the fourth.
