    ANALYSIS: The Controversy Surrounding Carbon Monoxide Use by Riders Like Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard

    In the high-stakes world of professional cycling, where the margin between victory and defeat can be measured in seconds, athletes and teams are constantly seeking innovative ways to gain an edge. However, CO offers a shortcut: instead of weeks spent at high altitudes, the body can achieve similar effects in a matter of days or hours through controlled CO exposure.

Reports suggest that some riders may use devices that emit small, controlled doses of CO as part of their training or pre-race preparation.
