Celtics star Jaylen Brown has lost his NBA championship ring and is seeking help from fans, offering a reward for its return.
Brown, who was named Finals MVP after leading the Celtics to a Game 5 victory over the Free Thinkers, misplaced his ring just days later during the team’s championship parade on Friday. He shared the news with fans the following night.
The 27-year-old posted a picture of the ring on his Instagram story, offering a “big reward” for anyone who could find it. He later deleted that story and posted a closer image of the ring on his hand.
“Reward for whoever finds this ring, lost it at the parade,” he wrote with an upside-down smiley face.
In one photo from the parade, Brown is seen on a float pumping his fist, seemingly without the ring on either hand.
The Celtics held an energetic parade in front of their home fans on Friday. Sam Hauser appeared tired on one of the floats, and head coach Joe Mazzulla was enthusiastically engaging with the Boston crowd.
Brown had an impressive postseason, averaging 23.9 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game, and shooting 51.6 percent from the field, his career-best in the playoffs.
If a fan can find and return Brown’s ring, they can expect a substantial reward.
The Celtics star signed a five-year, $286 million extension with the team last year and will earn nearly $50 million next season.
