Outside linebacker Kyle Van Noy, a free agent, answered questions from followers on Twitter in an occasional Q&A session. Fans of the Ravens inquired about his availability for the 2024 campaign as well as whether he had been in talks to re-sign with the team. Van Noy claims that he has discussed a potential comeback with General Manager Eric DeCosta.
Last season, Van Noy was one of DeCosta’s better additions—which is saying something considering how much every acquisition helped them win the AFC Championship. DeCosta signed outside linebackers Van Noy and Jadeveon Clowney, wide receivers Nelson Agholor and Odell Beckham Jr., and cornerbacks Ronald Darby and Arthur Maulet. Van Noy, in contrast to the others, signed with the Ravens in late September and had an immediate impact, amassing a single-season personal best of nine sacks, four passes defensed, and two forced fumbles in just 14 games.
With both Clowney and Van Noy signing one-year contracts last season, the Ravens need help at outside linebacker. With a combined total of 18.5 sacks, they both excelled and either surpassed or tied their individual single-season sack records. Returning one of them lessens their need for a pass rusher and adds experience to serve as a mentor for players like Tavius Robinson, David Ojabo, and Odafe Oweh.
Van Noy acknowledged Team Owner Steve Bisciotti on Twitter as he expressed his admiration for the company.
But a new contract won’t come cheap like it did in 2023. However, Van Noy appears publicly amicable about seeking a fair contract if he’s to re-sign in Baltimore.
