Kinlaw, a fourth-year pro, was born in South Carolina but spent his childhood in Northeast D.C. Young, who arrived in San Francisco in a midseason blockbuster trade, grew up in the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia). Young was born in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and graduated from DeMatha Catholic, a high school roughly seven miles from FedEx Field. He was drafted by the Washington Commanders and spent the first 3.5 years of his professional career with them.
“It’s an inner-city area,” Kinlaw explained. “Everything is close, there’s good vibes, good people, great energy, great views.”

The Initial Stop
When Kinlaw returns to his homeland, his first destination is Big China Carry Out in Northeast D.C. This takeaway restaurant, according to the defensive tackle, is the best spot to obtain mumbo sauce, a sweet, spicy and acidic sauce developed and made famous in Washington, D.C.
“You need to get some takeaway. “Plain and simple,” Kinlaw said. “Big China Carry Out is where I grew up.” They have by far the greatest mumbo sauce in town. They also have the greatest chicken wings.
