Manchester City’s forthcoming Premier League match versus Sheffield United has been predicted by Paul Merson.
The Manchester club’s recent league appearance saw them come from behind to defeat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park on Wednesday night.
With the Citizens prepare for their meeting against Chris Wilder’s team on Saturday, one analyst has offered his prediction for the game.
Merson predicts a City victory over Sheffield United.
Merson had this to say regarding City’s encounter against the Blades in his latest column for Sportskeeda, where he previewed and forecasted the scores for all of this weekend’s Premier League matchups.
“Manchester City win, period,” he remarked. It’s simply a matter of how many goals they score in front of their home fans, and it might turn ugly for Sheffield United, who are coming off a terrible home defeat to Luton Town.”
City are currently 28 points and 16 places ahead of the Yorkshire club, who are currently bottom of the Premier League table and fighting relegation.
Despite the fact that the Blades have played one more league game than City, the Manchester club has scored 28 more goals and conceded 26 fewer.
With that in mind, and the fact that, as Merson mentioned, United are coming off a 3-2 loss to Luton Town at home earlier this week, it’s easy to see why the pundit believes City will pick up another three points.
Despite Merson’s belief that the home team will triumph, they must avoid complacency as the game approaches.
