Thirty-eight minutes into Wednesday’s EFL Cup quarterfinal match at Anfield, Dominik Szoboszlai scored the fourth goal of his Liverpool career with a rocket into the net against West Ham.
The Hungarian international received the ball thirty yards from the goal, positioned himself up, and unleashed an incredible low shot that veered through the air and past Alphonse Areola, the Hammers’ goalkeeper.
Similar long-range goals were scored by Szoboszlai during Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Leicester City in the third round.
During his Sky Sports commentary on Wednesday’s match, former Liverpool captain Jamie Carragher made the comparison between Szoboszlai’s skill and that of Cristiano Ronaldo.
