In order to help cover for Gavi’s absence, the Catalans want to find a temporary solution, ideally on loan, and Alemany thinks Fornals may be a good fit.
He recently made an appearance on Cadena SER to talk about the choices being considered by the Camp Nou’s administrators. He mentioned Marco Verratti as one of the options before bringing up the West Ham player.
He claims that because he is Spanish and has a contract with West Ham that expires in the summer, he would “fit within that profile” that Barcelona is searching for. As a result, a “beneficial agreement” might be struck between all parties.
Although the specifics of that arrangement are unclear, West Ham would probably have to pay a minor amount in order to keep Fornals in the summer rather than losing him on a free agent.
Since he hasn’t played much for the Hammers this season, it might be the best option for everyone. It might also be worthwhile to keep a watch on any possible developments, especially if Barcelona is unable to sign any bigger names in January.
